The light of the Son is the best disinfectant

It is truly a sad day when a nation formed by Christian men and women; a nation that declared “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness,” has turned its back on not only these ‘truths’ but also on the truth giver.

We have systematically removed G-d from every aspect of public life. Its no longer appropriate to speak of G-d in school. What has replaced Him? We can now have classes that teach children in middle school the uses of a condom and the finer points of oral sex. We now have sensitivity training in both schools and the workplace to teach us that using biblical verses stating homosexuality or promiscuity as a sin is discriminatory and insensitive. Saying the name of G-d is taboo except when it is followed with a expletive. More people buy pornography than pay tithes.

 

As a country, our highest court has declared that the murder of unborn children is a right but placing the Ten Commandments in courtrooms or classrooms is illegal. Our President typically takes his oath of office on the Bible and ends with “so help me God.” However, in our most recent example the oath was retaken without the Bible and the same president who said “so help me God” reinstituted a policy taking tax dollars to pay for abortions and is working to limit our ability to freely share our faith in and the truth of Jesus Christ.

 

So called churches all around us have propped up false doctrines to make a sinful world more comfortable. Our churches don’t want to tell people that Jesus Christ is the ONLY way to heaven. It seems much nicer if we just propose Christianity as one stretch of road on a highway of possible options. Ironically, at no time has the lyrics of the famous ’Highway to Hell’ by AC/DC been more true:

 

Living easy, living free
Season ticket on a one-way ride
Asking nothing, leave me be
Taking everything in my stride
Don’t need reason, don’t need rhyme
Ain’t nothing I would rather do
Going down, party time
My friends are gonna be there too

I’m on the highway to hell

All around us people truly are on a ‘Highway to Hell’ and the church has become impotent to do anything about it. We won’t speak the Truth because it may diminish our popularity and people may think we’re “crazy fundies.” Christ prepares us for this in Matthew 24:9-14:

 

 

“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

 

 

We have a moral obligation to tell the Truth. There is no obligation for us to be popular. Preaching the gospel is not simply an option for those of us who have been saved by Jesus Christ. It is a direct order from our Lord and Savior. Matthew 28:18-20 states:

 

 

“And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

 

 

What is the truth that we must preach?

 

 

Jesus Christ is the Son of G-d.

He is eternally sinless

He was born of the virgin.

He took our sins to cross.

He physically rose from the dead on the third day.

We are saved by grace through faith.

There is only one path; only one road and that is Jesus Christ.

There is a real Heaven and a real Hell

If we fail to accept Jesus Christ we are accepting hell; the recompense for our sins.

It is G-ds desire that we spend eternity with Him in heaven.

 

 

Some will be offended by this message. Telling someone that they are a sinner is an offensive statement. Its also a truthful statement filled with love. There are only two types of people in this world; Sinners and Saved Sinners. The true test is not how often we fall. Its how often we get back up. We will never see anyone saved by endorsing their sin and watering down the very gospel that brought us to Christ. We must speak the truth at all times and let the Holy Spirit take care of drawing them to the Truth Giver.

Challenge false doctrines and false prophets where they stand. Challenge sin by putting it under the light of the Word of G-d. A popular phrase in this country is “Sunlight is the best disinfectant.” A more accurate rendering would be “The light of the Son is the best disinfectant.”

G-d Can Heal All Wounds

I start writing this not even knowing what I am planning to say; Only that I pray that I am led by the Holy Spirit in writing this.  I see so many people who are in pain and angry with G-d because of it.  Somehow they feel that the loss that they experienced is His fault.  I’ve went through my own pain and the depression that often plagued me and I can tell you that G-d is not the one that caused your wounds but He is the one who can heal each and every one of them.

Before I got my heart right with my L-rd again I suffered with depression.  Some of it because of the fact that I had lost the lady that I was dating at the time (who I loved with all my heart), the car was falling apart and I had a dead-end job.  One night I was on the phone with my ex and I asked her if she noticed anything different about me.  Her response was, “Well, you seem happy.”  I told her what I have just told you then I proceeded to tell her that I am happy now even though I still don’t have her, the car was still falling apart and I still didn’t like my job.  I have no doubt that our G-d is a G-d of miracles but sometimes He doesn’t fix all your problems or change your circumstances but He often does change your outlook.  There is a song that says,” Sometimes He calms the storm and other times He calms His child.”  Those words are so true.

I can’t know what you may be going through, that is for you and G-d alone.  However I can tell you that He never caused the bad things in your life.  Our Father is the author of good.  You may not see your problems disappear but I can tell you that He will comfort you if you will just turn to Him.  Don’t put it off.  He is waiting you to turn back to Him.

Now is the Day of Salvation

So often, when I speak with people about Yeshua and being saved I hear “When I fix this or that in my life I want to get into Church or get saved.”  G-ds word, in 2 Corinthians 6:2, says “For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”

Today is the day of salvation because we aren’t promised tomorrow.  You don’t have to walk it alone.  Come to the L-rd as you are and give your heart to Him.  Do wait.  Let Him help you fix all those problems.

“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” — Revelation 3:20
